Welcome new board and staff members

Two long-time community leaders with experience addressing homelessness were ushered onto the ACEH board at the June 26 meeting.

Carol Gore has worked 35+ years in homelessness and housing and served almost 23 years as president and CEO of Cook Inlet Housing Authority. She serves on the Anchorage Homelessness Leadership Council, on the boards of Covenant House Alaska and Providence Alaska, and on the governing board of The Foraker Group. She currently works for Weidner Apartment Homes.

Paul Landes is a senior vice president at GCI overseeing consumer services. He also serves on the Anchorage Homelessness Leadership Council. His past service includes chairing the Special Olympics and Volunteers of America boards in Anchorage.

With two new members coming on, two others are terming off the board. Thank you to Bill Falsey and Judith Crotty for their years of service to ACEH’s mission and work.

Michaela Franklin, Coordinated Entry specialist

In addition, a new staff member is joining ACEH. Michaela Franklin will serve as a Coordinated Entry specialist. She brings experience working with families and children from her prior job at the state Office of Children’s Services. People experiencing homelessness receive a Coordinated Entry housing needs assessment, which puts them on the by-name list prioritizing individuals for housing based on disability, age and the length of time they have been homeless.

Help us welcome Carol, Paul and Michaela!
