Help Anchorage attract HUD grant funds

Our community is working on a collaborative application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for annual funding in the national Continuum of Care grant competition. This application deeply examines a community’s commitment, effectiveness and coordination in efforts to solve homelessness and is submitted to HUD along with individual applications for local housing projects. Local project proposals are assessed by the Anchorage Rank and Review Committee. The Anchorage Continuum of Care Advisory Council uses the rankings to determine which projects will be submitted to HUD. The stronger the collaborative application, the better the chance of getting local projects funded.

The Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness is hosting two community roundtables in October to gather feedback and strengthen our collaborative application. Everyone is welcome to attend these hybrid meetings.

Please join us at one or both sessions:

  • Oct. 8, 1 to 3 p.m. coordination and engagement. RSVP here for a calendar invite that will include a link to join virtually as well as our physical address. We specifically hope to hear from people with lived experience in homelessness as well as organizations and agencies whose work most impacts this area of our collaborative application.

  • Oct. 9, 10 a.m. to noon, system performance. RSVP here for a calendar invite that will include a link to join virtually as well as our physical address. This session will focus on system performance, in particular how we can reduce returns to homelessness and the length of time an individual is experiencing homelessness. We specifically hope to hear from people with lived experience in homelessness as well as organizations and agencies whose work most impacts this area of our collaborative application including housing-focused shelters.
